Bridget Shaye Hollenbeck

Age 72, of Twining, MI passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at her home. She was born on June 11, 1953 to Robert and Wilma Ruckle (Dooley). Bridget graduated from Hale area schools and later became the first woman licensed to start harness race horses in Michigan. Over the years, Bridget worked as a bus driver and she had many roles that she enjoyed in food service. She also had a profound love for children and even cared for them as a foster parent for years. Bridget married Joseph Hollenbeck on April 1, 1982 and later moved to Twining in 1991 where she enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, horseback riding, camping and expressing her creative side with the gift of being great at decorating. Bridget is survived by her daughter, Brenna (Amos) Miller of Twining, MI; step children, Sara (Jeff) Gale of South Lyon, MI, Rick (Lil) Hollenbeck of Twining, MI, Pat (Diana) Hollenbeck of Denver, CO, Denny (Deb) Hollenbeck of McKinley, MI; her mother, Wilma Ruckle of Hale, MI; sisters Lana (Joe) Vohwinkle and Roma (Ron) Bassi, both of Hale, MI. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Alexis, Colter, Josh, Sasha, Myrica, Briana, Scott, Marc, Casey, Staci, Justin, Joel and several great grandchildren, two nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, father Robert and brother Roland. Private arrangements were handled by Buresh Funeral Homes in Twining, MI.
