Bridget Mary "Mom" Lee

This is a poem that was written by a dear friend for her mother, which she gave to me. It is something that says all that I feel but could not put into words.

Momma… You… Never…

You gave us love totally unconditional
Never asking a single thing in return
You made sure all our needs were met
Never caring the cost to your own needs
You held us tight and comforted the hurts
Never showing your need for comforting
You tended and nursed us back to health
Never giving consideration to your own health
You listened intently when we needed an ear
Never judging us for what we may have had to say
You always believed wholeheartedly in our abilities
Never trying to change the pathways of the lives we chose
You supported us in all our endeavors
Never letting us give up on our dreams
You taught us humility, kindness and patience
Never were you anything but a virtuous woman
You taught us right from wrong instilling morals in us
Never forcing those morals or beliefs down our throats
You stood by us in all we did without wavering
Never letting us fall into the path of wrong
You disciplined us with an even caring hand
Never abusing us in any way or any form
You taught us the gift of love and to be loved
Always being an example of love in our lives
I thank you Momma for all you've been and given to those you love
I pray that my life as a man will stand as a testament to your guidance.
I thank God for blessing our family with you
For you are the greatest blessing in our lives.
