Bridgette Renee Mallidis ObituaryBridgette Renee Mallidis (nee Bayer), a devoted mother, loving daughter, and cherished sister, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 25, 2025. She was 52 years old.
Born on June 13, 1973, in Madison, Ohio, Bridgette was a proud graduate of Lake Catholic High School, Class of 1992, where she was a spirited and competitive cheerleader. After beginning her life in Northeast Ohio, she spent the past 19 years in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she built a warm and loving home for her children.
Bridgette was the beloved mother of Olivia Marie Mallidis and Benjamin George Robert Mallidis-her greatest joys and the center of her world. She is the cherished daughter of Robert and Flora Bayer, and the loving sister of Robin (Gary) Walker, Bob (Jenny) Bayer, and Brenda (Eric) Miller. She was a proud and involved aunt to Ryan Martin, Mason Martin, Bobby Bayer, Jenna Bayer, Ashley Mays, Paige Swit, Abigail Swit, Shawn Miller, and Sara Miller. She is also survived by her former husband, friend, and devoted co-parent, Jason Mallidis.
Bridgette lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and quiet strength. Her love for her children was boundless, and she created a home full of laughter, home-cooked meals, and Friday night movie traditions. She enjoyed practicing yoga, spending time outdoors, and sharing her life with her beloved pets-Molly, Ace, and Ollie-who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
A woman of deep faith, Bridgette was a devoted Catholic who embraced life's simple blessings with gratitude. Her gentle spirit and nurturing nature were evident not only in her personal life but also in her professional work. She previously served as a Family Services Coordinator at The Children's Center of Knoxville and also worked at St. Joseph School, Wonderland Children's Academy, and Knoxville Beverage Control. In each role, she brought compassion, care, and genuine dedication to those she served.
Bridgette touched the lives of many with her quiet grace, listening heart, and unwavering love. Her memory will live on in the lives of those she cherished most, and her spirit will continue to guide and comfort her family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather in her memory on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center Street, Mentor, Ohio. A prayer service will begin at 6:30 PM.
A Celebration of Bridgette's life will be held in Knoxville at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the love she shared so freely.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Bridgette's love and devotion to her children, contributions to Olivia and Ben's college savings can be made by visiting Ugift529.com and click "Give a Gift". All gifts will be shared equally between them and are deeply appreciated.
