David Varney Obituary
Born Feb. 20, 1941, in Williamson, W. Virginia, David lived in Willoughby and Eastlake before moving to Mentor 13 years ago.
David proudly served his country in the United States Army and later dedicated 22 years of service to Rampe Manufacturing in Cleveland. Known for his warm heart and welcoming nature, David never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His genuine care for others and his undaunting spirit touched the lives of many. David will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Those fortunate enough to have shared in his life were truly blessed.
He was the beloved husband of Helen (nee Thacker) Varney; loving father of David Varney and Nedra Varney; cherished grandfather of Kaden Wrayno and Myles Wrayno.
David was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Varney; and parents, Roscoe and Dollie (nee Hodge) Varney, siblings Roscoe "Joe" Varney, James Varney, Danny Ray Varney, Nettie Lou (nee Varney) Lillis and Nellie Sue (nee Varney) Greer.
A private graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Whitehaven Cemetery in Mayfield.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
