Brigid K. Sullivan, a valiant soul whose life was a testament to courage and adventure, departed this world on August 27, 2025, in the same city where her story began, New York City. She was born on January 18, 1968, and was the cherished daughter of Daniel and Margaret Maloney Sullivan and the beloved sister of Daniel, John, and Mary. She was an integral part of a large family whom she cherished, including many cousins who will continue to carry her spirit.

Brigid's life was one of service and dedication. Brigid's educational journey led her to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a field that served her well in her impressive 26-year tenure in the New York City Police Department, rising to the rank of Detective. Brigid found profound fulfillment in her volunteer work with Cabrini Services. Her dedication to the organization was a testament to her compassionate spirit. She eagerly anticipated the annual children's Christmas party, an event that brought immense joy to both the children and Brigid herself.

Brigid's love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence. She cherished every moment spent with them. An unparalleled New York Yankees enthusiast, Brigid was unrivaled in her loyalty to the team. Rain or shine, she was always the first to arrive, a beacon of support and cheer. Her adventurous spirit took her to various corners of the world through her love of travel.

Brigid seemed to embody the words by Helen Keller: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all" that encapsulated her approach to life – living each day courageously and embracing the adventures that came her way. Brigid's legacy is not merely in the records of her professional accolades but echoes in the lives of those she touched with her infectious humor, unwavering bravery and the boundless love she shared.

As we celebrate the remarkable woman she was today, let us reflect on the spark of joy Brigid brought into the world, a flame that will continue to shine brightly in the memories of all who were privileged to know her.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY.
