Britt Crews 1991 – 2024, age 33, passed away on October 26, 2024. Britt was born in Waycross, Georgia and lived in Charlton County, Homeland, Georgia for most of his life. He lived in Lake Park with his wife at the time of his passing.
Britt was the grandson of Joe and Pat Keene, Viola Williams, and the late Dolphus (Pete) and Mary Anny Crews. He is survived by his wife Deanna (Wade), parents Joseph (Joe) Jackson Crews Sr., Viola (Boogie) Crews and Shirley Steedley. Siblings Joseph (Jody) Crews Jr. (Patsy), Solomon (Sol) Crews, Richard (Summer) Crews, Shanandoah (Suzy) Glickman (Thomas). Father in-law Tony Wade. Brothers and Sisters in-law Daniel and Taylor Wade, Don and Laura Pace, Charles Burch, and a considerable number of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Britt treasured his family, and especially his wife Deanna. He was a keen observer of people and events with the uncanny ability to state the facts without judgment. He never met a living thing or mechanical item that he did not endeavor to leave better than he found it, he particularly loved solving puzzles and working with his hands. He was always a diligent, hardworking man who was committed to getting things done right, and he never minded getting dirty doing it. Brit’s welding and mechanic skills were well-honed and quite intuitive. He worked as a diesel mechanic for most of his years and was the Lead Mechanic at the Speedco in Lake Park, Georgia.
Britt preferred to be outdoors enjoying nature with his family and friends or relaxing at home with his wife or their family. He and his wife or family were always planning their next adventure or road trip, and he especially looked forward to petting every dog or animal he could wherever they went. He commanded respect without even trying; his warm, affable personality and quick wit saw him making friends wherever he went. He attacked each day with a zest for life, his best foot forward, a ready grin, and a teasing remark on the tip of his tongue. Those that knew him always had a kind word to say about him, as he brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He leaves a void in our lives and will be sorely missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Family will receive personal notes, and condolences at shepardrobersonfh.com.
In lieu of flowers or memorials, consider going outside and taking a walk barefoot in the grass, laying under the stars on a mountaintop, taking care of my Deanna or my loved ones, and make sure they never feel alone; going on a road trip with your family, taking care of what you have so you will always be able to appreciate it, keeping your knives sharp and your heart open, and living life as big as you can
