Florence Neely

Florence Neely, 87, of Folkston, Ga. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 07, 2026 at Southeast Georgia Healthcare System in Camden County following a brief illness. She was born on January 10, 1939 to the late Sam and Leola Bailey Spatcher in Traders Hill, GA. She accepted the Lord at the early age of 13 at Zion Sisters Baptist Church, at the age of 18 she joined Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church and became a member of the choir.

Florence met and married the late Eugene Neely, to this union three children were born, Franklin E. Neely (Dilly), Melvin (Bubba) Louis Neely and Glenda Darlene Neely, who all preceded her in death. She later met Odum Reed and three more children were born, Lola Harris, Odum Reed, Jr (Kenyatta) and Sharon Hobbs (Benny).

Florence was preceded in death by both parents, Sam and Leola Bailey Spatcher, her brothers, Daniel Spatcher, Wilbur Spatcher, Sr., Billy Spatcher, Elvis Spatcher, Leroy Spatcher, Neil Spatcher, Edmond Spatcher, Japel Spatcher, Owen Spatcher, Pilot Spatcher, her sisters, Lillie Spatcher Shepard, Mariah (Hunn) Wright and Zoie Brown.

Florence leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Lola Harris, Odum Reed, Jr (Kenyatta) and Sharon Hobbs (Benny); 8 grandchildren to include a special grandchild and her caretaker, Shekerra Ellis, Natalie Neely, Ronald Eldell, Daveron Reed, Jayana Reed, Jakiah Davis, Jayden President and Sariyah Dasher; one special great-grand, Elliana Rose Reed; 2 sisters, Evangelist Lavern Spatcher and Viola Spatcher Stephens; one special niece, Patricia Hamilton; and a host of other great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026 @ 2:00 pm at Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 416 Dixie Lake Rd., Folkston, Ga. 31537. Interment in Traders Hill Cemetery.

Remains will lie in state one hour prior to services on Sunday.
