Mr. Broderick Jerome Evans, Sr., 40, of Peoria, IL transitioned to his heavenly home at 9:50 am on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at his residence.
Broderick was born on September 24, 1982 to Prentice and Verlene (Evans) Moore.
Broderick was a very fun person and a jokester. He lit up a room when he walked in with his smile. Broderick was the life of the party. He was down to earth and spoke his mind. Broderick loved being with his family and friends; especially on Sundays and holidays when they gathered at his mother's house. He would be very excited about what his mom cooked. Broderick loved to listen to rap, R & B and blues music.
Broderick leaves to cherish his most precious memory his mother, Verlene (Howard Kinerd) Evans of Peoria, IL; his father, Prentice Moore of Greenville, MS; four sons, Jacori Johnson, Jaelle Johnson, Ezekiel Jones and Broderick Evans, Jr. all of Peoria, IL; one daughter, Cecelia Jones of Peoria, IL; two brothers, Keith (Kia) Evans Hornlake, MS and Jerry Huges of Peoria, IL; six sisters, Tashawa Evans of Evansville, IN, Shuncharon (Tarys) Givens of Cleveland, MS, Ebony Stelivan, Shanika Dorris, Skyra Irby and Shanira Kinerd all of Peoria, IL his grandparents, Nora Adams and Willie Adams both of Memphis, TN; paternal grandfather, Willie Moore of Scotts, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who adored him. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Albert Bovan; paternal grandmother, Viola Gates; great grandfather, Bennett Bovan; and great grandmother, Ernestine Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Sovereign Grace M.B. Church with a visitation one-hour prior beginning at 10 am. Pastor, Alvin Riley, Sr., will officiate.
