Bronnie Ray Parsons

Bronnie Ray Parsons, age 82, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 3:33 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.

Bronnie was a coal miner with Peabody Coal Company from 1965 until his retirement. Most of those years were spent at River Queen Mines in Muhlenberg County. Bronnie loved woodworking and was a talented carpenter. He helped build their house at Barkley Lake and enjoyed maintaining it over the years. He liked to tinker with old trucks, ride his Harley Davidson, and to dance. In his 40s, he became an avid runner; sometimes running 10 miles or more at a time. Bronnie enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting mushrooms and Indian artifacts. He recently made the decision to be baptized after rekindling his faith and enjoyed reading and studying his Bible. Spending time with his family gave him the greatest joy, especially his grandkids.

Bronnie was preceded in death by his parents Cleo and Anise Lara Parsons, wives Diane Parsons and Gloria Parsons, daughter Kathy Parsons, and his sisters Sandy Lee Parsons and Geraldine Parsons Stewart.

Bronnie is survived by his daughter Lori McDonald and her husband Jonathan of Henderson, KY; sons Richard Parsons and his wife Susan of Greenville, KY and David Parsons and his wife Karla of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sisters Judy Mosby and Joyce Thacker both of Crofton, KY; 8 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bronnie's Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Brother Dean Ray officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Macedonia Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
