James Pfeffer, age 86, of
Henderson, KY passed away on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at Redbanks Nursing Home under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice. He cherished his family and loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Jim will be remembered as a caring, giving, and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Jim was a United States Airforce Veteran, proudly serving for four years stationed in Nevada. After leaving the military, he found his passion as a Vocational Teacher, Principal, and Tool & Die maker. Many years later, he retired as the Director of the Madisonville Community and Technical Colleges. Jim was an avid runner, loved running races and was most proud of completing a half marathon in Louisville, KY. He taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of Airline Baptist Church. Jim had a giving heart, donating many hours volunteering for local non-profit organizations.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Clarence James and Helen Pfeffer.

Henderson, KY; daughters: Kim Chavira (Steve), Kelly Pfeffer, Christie Koontz (Larry), and Debbie Floyd (Tom) of
Henderson, KY; son Mike Kellough (Desiree) of Murrysville, PA; sisters: Janet Bowlen, Sharon Alvey and Elizabeth Tipton (Glen) of
Henderson, KY; brother Doug Pfeffer(Drake) of Plano, TX; grandchildren: Zach Chavira(Lauren) of Evansville, IN, Myles Chavira(Joe) of
Henderson, KY, Cassidy Chavira of Louisville, KY, Vince Edwards (Brooke) of Niceville, FL, Matt Kourtjian (Sara) of Jackson, MI, Bambie King (Matt) of
Henderson, KY, Amber Koontz of Terre Haute, IN, Lauren Massey of Owensboro, KY, Andrea Gibson (James) of

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in
Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jeremy Aliff of Airline Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in
Henderson, KY with full military detail presented by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.
Pallbearers will be Zach Chavira, Myles Chavira, Joseph Chavira, Tony Wint, Jason Gibson, and Alex Gibson.
