Brooklyn Jean Grishaber, age 11, of Combined Locks, received her angel wings on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Children's Hospital Milwaukee, following a courageous battle with Leukemia. Brooklyn was born in Appleton on November 22, 2010, to Jon and Cara (Brandmeyer) Grishaber.
Brooklyn loved being a student and attended Mapleview Intermediate School in Kimberly where she was taught by her beloved teacher Wendy Hanes. She loved Tik Tok, playing piano, watching her brother play sports, spending her summers at Evergreen Campground and hanging out with her family and many friends.
Brooklyn's life was short, yet had incredible meaning. Brooklyn touched the lives of all that knew her. Every room was brighter when she was in it. She fought hard for two years and always had a smile on her face.
She will be deeply missed by her parents, Jon and Cara, her brother, Owen, her nonnie and poppy, Steve and Mindy Brandmeyer, her grandma and pappy, Hank and Karen Grishaber, her aunts and uncles, Opie and Erica Grishaber, Maggie (Chris) Kresal, Peggy (Ryan) Kohl, and her cousins Linkyn, Kellyn, Logan, Breyenne, Kennedy and Kora.
The funeral liturgy will be held at 5 pm on Friday, April 1st, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace St. Combined Locks, with Father John Becker and Deacon Dave Hayden officiating. Interment will take place at St. Paul Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Friday from 1 pm until 4:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
We are forever grateful to the many doctors, nurses (especially Brittany and Katey) and child life specialist team, at both St. Vincent's Hospital and Children's Hospital Wisconsin that spent countless hours caring for Brooklyn.
Our sweet Gigi, we will hold you in our hearts until we can hold you again in heaven.

Cara, John and family. I was introduced to Brooklyn via Facebook and through my daughter. We have never officially met but I followed her closely. I´m sorry for the loss of dear Brooklyn. She had many many people in her corner. I hope some day you will have comfort that Brooklyn never fought alone. She has, and always will have an army who love her.

Cara and Jon - I cannot imagine what you have gone through to this end. Please know that thoughts and prayers are with you and Owen to help you find some peace. I'm sorry I didn't meet Brooklyn, she seemed to be so well loved and strong! You will see her again...
