Bruce Donald Campbell

Bruce Donald Campbell, age 103, of Gloucester, died at home on November 25, 2025 with his family at his side.
Bruce was born November 11, 1922 at Temple Fortune Lane in Golders Green, London, England. He was the son of John Walter Campbell and May Alice (Thomas) Campbell. Bruce always talked fondly of his family home Kozie Neuk, in Wembley England. He graduated from Latymer Upper School and worked on radar and microwave technology for the General Electric Company during and after World War II. Bruce studied for his university degree during the war and graduated from London University with BSC honors just after the war ended.
After emigrating to North America in 1957 along with his first wife and two sons, Bruce continued his career in radar and microwave technology with defense companies in the US and Canada. His two daughters were born in the US. Bruce retired at age 62 in 1985.
Bruce was pre-deceased by his brothers Gordon and John Douglas and his son Steven Patrick. He is survived by his beloved wife Ann of 50+ years, his children Ian David, Laura Anne and Mary Frances Carvill. Bruce was thrilled to enjoy six grandchildren and six great grandchildren (plus one on the way) and his nieces and nephews.
Bruce loved sailing and for most of his years in Gloucester he enjoyed having his boat on a mooring just below his cottage at Freshwater Cove. He loved music and played, sang and acted in several amateur music and theater groups. Bruce was a fierce competitor and loved playing board games with family and friends as well as shooting in an archery league. He will always be cherished for his sharp mind, gentle spirit, bright blue eyes and sweet smile.
His burial and graveside remembrance service will be Dolliver Memorial Cemetery, Gloucester, on Saturday December 13th at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Collation to follow at a local pub.
