Bruce Corrette

St. Johnsbury, VT - Bruce Alphonse Corrette, 89, of St. Johnsbury, VT passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at his home after a brief illness.

Bruce was born in Lebanon, NH on January 11, 1935, to George and Madeline (Sidney) Corrette. He was raised in Lebanon, attended local schools, and graduated from Lebanon High School, Class of 1953. From there he went to Bentley College obtaining an associate degree. Bruce was self-employed as a Certified Public Accountant. On June 21, 1963, he married Jane Marie LaFountain. The couple shared 37 years together until Jane's death in 2001.

Bruce served his community as a board member for many organizations including St. Johnsbury School, St. Johnsbury Athenaeum, Fairbanks Museum, Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, Lyndon State College, and many others. He also taught Groundhog swimming lessons and was a member of Rotary International. Although Bruce enjoyed all sports, he had a favorite in the N.Y. Yankees. He enjoyed gardening, family camp, and loved every member of his large family.

Survivors include two sons: Jeffrey Corrette and wife Shelley of Victorville, CA and Jim Corrette and wife Allison of St. Johnsbury; two daughters: Billie Lynn Corrette of Barre, VT and Jacqueline Corrette Reardon and Paul of Essex Junction, VT; three brothers: Tim Corrette of Canaan, NH, Keith Corrette of Wheat Ridge, CO, and Brian Corrette and wife Petra of Berlin, Germany; a sister: Betty Bonneau and husband Bob of Canaan, NH; six grandchildren: Elysia Ceja (Victor), Russell Corrette, Schuylar and Caleb Fairris, and Nicholas and Patrick Reardon; a great-granddaughter: Mila Ceja; and a large number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Jane M. Corrette; two sisters: Joyce Corrette Richardson and Janice Darling; two brothers: George and Robert Corrette; a brother-in-law: Jim Darling; and 2 nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Fr. Lance Harlow will be celebrated on Thursday, June 13, 2024, 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Winter Street in St. Johnsbury, VT. Burial will follow directly after at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in St. Johnsbury, VT. Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, 5-7PM at Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St. Johnsbury.
