Bruce K. Eaton, Sr., 85, of Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with family by his side. he was born in Newfield, NY on August 13, 1937, the son of the late Willard and Violet (Passino) Eaton.
Bruce served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1958 after the Korean War and before the Vietnam War. He later was a General Contractor for many years by trade. in the 70's he helped to establish and build the Volunteer Fire Department on Wallace Hill Road and was a volunteer fireman for many years. He wore many hats; father, grandfather, friend, brother and uncle.
Bruce enjoyed listening to music, playing guitar, Karaoke, camping, 4 wheeling, boating, fishing, motorcycle riding and snowmobiling, and walking through the woods.
He is survived by his children and their spouses; Kim Eaton-Derick and husband Jerry Derick, Bruce K. Eaton, Jr., Brad Eaton, Kevin Eaton and Kristy Parker, his siblings; Dorothy Eaton Pulver of Jacksonville, FL., Daniel Eaton of NY, his grandchildren; Kaela Eaton, Dylan Eaton, Jennifer Eaton, Dante Eaton, Bruce Eaton III, and Jesse Clark, his great grandchildren; Seth LaBarge, Xavier Eaton, London Eaton, Liam Clark and Killian Clark, many nieces and nephews and two beloved dogs Princess and Razzy.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his siblings Paul "Sony" Eaton, Mary Lou Eaton, Priscilla (Eaton) Brown and Lorraine (Eaton) Couts.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Funeral services and military honors will follow at 4:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, and in Bruce's memory and honoring his sister Mary Lou Eaton (11 years) and great grandson Kaleb Anthony LaBarge (10 years) who both died of cancer, the family wishes to donate to the North Country Cancer Fund.
