PLATTSBURGH - Carol Sue Kline, née Shaffer, passed away on October 9th, 2025. Born on September 15, 1961, in Plattsburgh, NY, to Ronald and Sue Ann (Harper) Shaffer, Carol's life was marked by her loving and compassionate spirit, which everyone she met could feel.

Carol attended Plattsburgh State University, graduating with a degree in Psychology in 1983.

She worked at RadioShack, where she met her future husband, Kurt Kline. In 1992, she graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene, which marked the beginning of her 32-year career. She was known for her excellent clinical skills and cheerful personality. Patients would request to be seen by her and follow her when she changed offices. Carol knew so many people through her work and was beloved by many.

Carol lived in Boston, Philadelphia, and multiple cities in New York when she was in her 20s and 30s, before settling back in her hometown of Plattsburgh. She later moved to California for 6 years with her daughter, Nikki, where she enjoyed the sun and beach. She loved to travel, having been married in Hawaii, visited many states on their month-long drive out to California, and taken many trips with her daughter, including to the Bahamas.

Carol was always active, playing many sports in her life, whether that be her passion for running or her love for softball, which she passed down to her daughter. She played softball all the way through school, into college, and in an adult league for a time. When her daughter was young she also coached her softball team, sharing her love for the game. She was also an avid golfer, playing with a group of friends for many years.

Carol's life was dedicated to her family and friends. There is nothing she wouldn't do for any of them. She was always the mediator, the comforter, the one people could talk to.

She is predeceased by her beloved mother, Sue Ann Shaffer, and lovingly remembered by her daughter Nikki Rose Kline, father Ronald Shaffer, siblings Judy Baxter, Linda Douglas, Christopher Shaffer, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court St, Plattsburgh, NY, on Saturday, October 18th from 3 to 5 PM to celebrate Carol's life.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the R.W. Walker Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY.
