Marianne Miller Croto – Moore

March 12, 1937 – October 20, 2025

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Marianne Miller Croto – Moore, age 88, of Florida, who peacefully departed this life on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, New York. She was lovingly known by everyone as “MeMe.” Marianne was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted follower of The Most High.

Born on March 12, 1937, to Clifton and Helen Stokes Miller in Hartford, Connecticut, Marianne married Donald Joseph Croto on June 30, 1956, beginning a life filled with love, family, and service.

Marianne dedicated her life to caring for others. As a licensed practical nurse, she served those in need, particularly, the elderly, the indigent, and for many years, inmates. She believed in the dignity of every person and treated all with kindness, respect, and grace. Beyond her professional work, Marianne had a boundless heart for helping all living beings. With time, finances, and talents, she supported rescue shelters through donations, as she cared deeply for animals. She was always on a mission to help the homeless, the elderly, and special needs children, constantly finding ways to make life better for those around her.

A woman of devout faith, Marianne’s life was guided by her love for YAHUAH. She found strength and comfort in her faith, extending that love to everyone she met – through gentle words, acts of service, and quiet prayers. Full of life, compassion, and joy, she never let personal challenges overshadow her generosity or her radiant spirit. Marianne had a special way of making everyone feel loved, always ending every conversation with her signature phrase, “I love you more,” and "I've got you covered" (in prayer). Even with her departure, we will always hear her words ringing out: “I love you more.”

She was a strong-willed woman who lived life on her own terms and was determined to do things her way... even to the very end. Giving was in her DNA — it was her mission in life to give, whether it was her time, her love, money, or her support, and she did so with kindness, grace, and an unwavering heart. Her faith and belief in the power of love, forgiveness, and grace made her a beacon of light to all who knew her.

Marianne’s legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched. She is survived by her son, Peter Croto and daughter-in-law Ellen; her daughters, Michele Croto McNeeley and son-in-law Paul and Paula Croto Fontaine and son-in-law Lenny; her grandchildren, Christina Rosario, Jennifer Fontaine, Amanda Fontaine, Michael Brown, Hannah Fontaine, Nicolas Croto; and her great-grandchildren, Austin, Reyna, Kaleigh, Layla, Chloee, Cayden, Tristan, and Gemma. She is also survived by her sisters, Marietta Miller Caladim (Nicholas) and Helene Miller Fleury (Raymond), as well as many nieces and nephews, along with six predeceased brothers and sisters, whom she loved dearly.

We extend a special thank you to those who made Marianne’s life extra special these last few years with memorable outings and adventures—Cristina Urbina, Christi Hebisen, and niece, Dina Caladim Fisher.

Marianne is now at peace in the arms of her Savior, having completed her work here on earth. Her life was a reflection of faith, love, compassion, generosity, and joy — a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.
