Bruce Wayne Funk, 76, went to be with our Lord on August 15, 2025.

Bruce married the love of his life, Shirley, and together they celebrated 49 wonderful years. During their life together, they made homes in both Kansas and Texas. A hardworking man, Bruce worked in construction, drove trucks, and was the proud owner of his own business, Industrial Fiberglass before his retirement.

He loved his family deeply, and his favorite pastimes were barbecuing and simply spending time with those he loved. His warmth, strength, and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him.

Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Funk, father, Marvin Funk, and sister, RoxeAnne Pence. Most recently, he mourned the loss of his dear sister, Pat Zamora, and her husband, Carlos. We take comfort in knowing that a beautiful homecoming awaited him in heaven.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Shirley Funk; his sons, Richard Scott (Veronica) and their sons Sergio and Rafael, Joe Funk (Cyndy) and their sons Zane, Blake, Colton, Alan, and Collyn; his daughter, Andi Ford (Jeff) and their sons Jacob and Zack. He is also survived by his sisters, Robin (Allen) Johnson, Bonnie Bulmer, Ginger Kruger (Dave), and his brother, Troy Funk.

There will be a service on September 5th, 2025, at Stroud Funeral Home in Clute, Texas at 1 PM.

Bruce leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and family that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." – Psalm 34:18
