Bruce Hinson

LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Marion Bruce Hinson, age 86, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022. He was born December 6, 1935, in Lancaster, SC, a son of the late Marion C. Hinson and Delie Blackmon Hinson and was the husband of Connie Burgess Hinson. Mr. Hinson retired from Springs Industries after 43 years. He was a lifetime member of Antioch Masonic Lodge and proudly served his country in The United States National Guard. Mr. Hinson was an avid Carolina Gamecock fan. He enjoyed all sports, riding on the boat at the river, going to the beach, fishing, and watching NASCAR. Mr. Hinson loved his family dearly and loved to help others. He was a faithful member of High Point Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and served as treasurer, a deacon, and a member on the cemetery committee.
Mr. Hinson is survived by his wife of 63 years, Connie Hinson; his ten nieces and nephews, Janice Wilson (Ron), Phill Hinson (Debbie), Anne Hinson, Jerry Roberts, Stephen Burgess (Larissa), Lisa Connell (Chris), Michael Burgess (Casey), Matthew Evans (Stacey), Allison Johnson (Matt), and Emmagene Roberts; brother-in-law, Conley M. Burgess, Jr. (Judy Jordan); sisters-in-law, Diane Evans (Joel), and Marty Burgess; and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Delie Hinson; his brother, Wade Hinson; his sister, Myrtle Roberts; his nephew, Jimmy Roberts; and his brother-in-law, Mike Burgess.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Hinson will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at High Point Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Billy Belk, Rev. Ron Wilson, and Rev. Bobby Joyner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to High Point Baptist Church, Prayer Garden Fund, 1888 Rocky River Rd. Lancaster, SC 29720.
