Bruce Alan Holloway, Sr. age 90 of Westerville, went to meet Jesus November 17, 2025. He was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on May 8, 1935, to the late Archie and Dorothy (Haigh) Holloway. He was a 1956 graduate of Bucyrus High School, and a 1960 graduate of Denison University majoring in economics.
He retired in 1998 as Credit Manager of the Grimes Division of Honeywell Corp. in Urbana, Ohio. He was a man of great faith and held several leadership roles and sang bass in the choir at Grace United Methodist Church in Bucyrus before moving to Pickerington, Ohio in 1979. He was a member of New Albany United Methodist Church.
Bruce has dearly missed his wife and love of his life Lillian (Lil) since her passing in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan Shriver and her husband Jim, sister-in-law Sandra Nuetzel and her husband Ned, and brother-in-law John Ralph and his wife Patricia. He is survived by daughters Nancy Holloway and Mary Halm; son Bruce Holloway, Jr. (Kathy); grandchildren, Jennifer, Adam (Monica), Jared (Aubrey), Lauren (Ann), Taylor (Jeff) and Danielle (Claire); great-grandchildren, Layla, Liliana, Ava, Brevin, Macy, Evelynn, Cora, and Ella, and special bonus family, Dale, Joyce, and Bethany Storts, and Ashley (William) O'Brien.
Bruce began his career as Office Manager of A. L. Holloway Sales Company in Bucyrus, Ohio (1957-1966). He then moved to Swan Hose/Anchor Swan in Bucyrus (later in Worthington) where he held division and corporate roles of customer service manager, accounts receivable supervisor, and credit manager. He later held the position of Credit Manager at Grimes in Urbana. Bruce was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers, and Ohio State football and basketball. After his daily devotions, he loved watching his favorite TV series Gunsmoke and watching old movies and learning about his favorite actors/actresses. Growing up in and around the family auto dealership, he loved cars and sharing the stories accumulated over the decades of family history. Most conversations with Bruce were generously sprinkled with jokes and other (sometimes questionable) witticisms! He had quite a sweet tooth and many times invited company to join him in eating a vitamin K which in his vernacular was a Klondike bar.
Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home in
Canal Winchester, Ohio is serving the family. A private burial service will be held later at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Columbus, Ohio with Rev. Mike Pratt officiating. The family gives special thanks to Violet Springs Health Campus for their love and care of Bruce in his final weeks. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Bruce's name to New Albany United Methodist Church, 20 3rd St., New Albany, OH 43054.
