Bruce W. Jensen unexpectedly returned home to our Father in Heaven on Sunday, November 10th 2024, while up at his cabin where he enjoyed spending his spare time.
Bruce was born on January 7th 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Eldon and Leora Jensen. In 1956, Eldon and Leora moved their four boys to Ogden, where Bruce was raised and lived an active childhood with his brothers and many friends. Bruce's jovial personality filled their home with laughter and jokes. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School. Bruce worked many jobs in his teenage years and like many teenage boys at the time, enjoyed working on muscle cars. Bruce was always a tinkerer, hard worker, and loved building and fixing things himself. He also attended Weber State where he earned several Skill Certificates.
He met and married Becky Fessler in Plain City, Utah in 1982. Their marriage was later sealed in the Ogden Utah Temple. They have resided in West Haven City for the last 36 years.
After graduating from high school, he worked for the Tooele Army Depot and later transferred to Hill Air Force Base in their Welding Shop at Building 507 where he worked for the next 38 years. After retirement from Civil Service, he went on to work for both Weber and Davis School District Transportation as a school bus driver. He loved driving the kids on the school buses. He was the type of bus driver that most school kids wished they had.
Bruce was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served in various callings throughout his lifetime. Bruce and Becky were called to a service mission at Mill Creek Youth Center and more recently, Wasatch Front Inner City Mission, which he enjoyed.
He loved spending time outdoors, where he was part of multiple groups including Wasatch Slopes Chariot Racing Association, two Western Horse Riding Clubs, and ATV trail riding clubs. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, snow skiing, and snowmobiling up in Yellowstone. His favorite activity while boating, was slowly driving the smaller grandchildren, nieces, and nephews around on tubes. With the older kids on tubes he was not so slow, or so kind. In the later years, he spent a lot of time at his cabin that he helped build up at Bear Lake. Bruce loved having family and guests up to the cabin to eat food, explore trails on ATVs, and especially to play games. He was always fun to play with and everyone he left behind will miss, and never forget his happy disposition, joking and his deep contagious laughter. He was easy to love and he loved so many. Bruce enjoyed helping others and will undoubtedly continue to help those beyond the veil.
Bruce is survived by his wife; three sons: Cory Jensen, Lance (Melody) Jensen, Trevor (Emily) Jensen; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Jerry (Janeen), Russell (Mary), and Gaylan (Denise), and many nephews and nieces that all adored him. He was preceded in death by his parents Eldon and Leora Jensen.
