Bruce Quicker Obituary

Bruce G. Quicker

Bruce G. Quicker, 82, of Lambertville, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023. He was born in Sheboygan, WI to Carl and Petronella (Leonhard) Quicker on May 23, 1940. Throughout his life, Bruce excelled in many working roles; his most prominent was starting Toledo Industrial Maintenance Supply, first on Upton Avenue, then moving to Hill Avenue after his business grew. He owned and managed the business for over 20 years. He also contributed endless hours to Oasis Mediterranean Cuisine as a consultant. Bruce was a determined man who worked hard his entire life, not retiring until his health required him to do so at the age of 80. A good meal, gathering with family, and gardening are all things Bruce was passionate about. He was the best at sharing stories, which have now become legends. He was a charismatic, outgoing, wonderful man who will be deeply missed.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of over 25 years, Linda Schlachter-Quicker; children, Kimberly (Ken Pezzin) Post, Katrina (Michael Ody) Quicker; step-children, Vickie (Kevin) Kuhr, Rick (Michelle) Schlachter, Marc (Sarah) Schlachter, Christian (Melanie) Schlachter; daughter-in-law, Melanie Quicker; grandchildren, Amanda Mossing (Johnny) Honeycutt, Joshua (Aleese) Post, Jordan (LaNia) Mossing, Lauren (Drew) Post; Britton Ody, Maraea Ody, Kensington Ody, Graylon Ody, Kylee Quicker, Anna Quicker; step-grandchildren, Kyle (Morgan) Kuhr, Oscar Schlachter, Henry Schlachter, Jack Schlachter, Clara Schlachter, Emily Schlachter, Amelia Schlachter; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Sharon) Quicker, Dick (Gae) Quicker; sisters, Mary (Klaus) Michaletz, Rose Krepsky, Jean (Bob) Lokker, June Quicker, and countless extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Crystal Britton; son, Kerrigan Quicker; and brother, Carl Quicker.

Following Bruce's wishes, services will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to the Walker Funeral Home, Toledo. I first met Bruce at the Toledo Club in 1979. He was a kind man and we had many laughs together. Later in life, we became neighbors living in the same subdivision. I relied on Bruce for all of my horticultural needs. He was always willing to share some good advice. His smiles and his wit will certainly be messed. Rest in peace, my friend.

Bruce was quick witted and was a great manager for us with his time at Oasis... He loved what he did but his face was always the brightest when talking about his family. He will certainly be missed but he made us better each and every day... May he rest in peace.
Our Love and Prayers go out to his entire family.
