Bruce A. Thompson, age 59, of Roxbury, passed away unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, August 11, 2025, at the Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley in Haverhill, following a sudden heart attack. He was the beloved husband of Irving A. Thompson of Haverhill, his loving spouse of one year.

Born in Tewksbury, MA on December 19, 1965, Bruce was the son of the late George Perry and the late Vivian M. Thompson. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the National Guard, proudly serving for two years.

For many years, Bruce worked at Market Basket as a bagger, where his kind nature and helpful spirit left a lasting impression on those he met. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys. Bruce also loved listening to music, watching TV, spending time with his friends, and enjoyed treating himself in his free time. He will be remembered as a thoughtful and caring person, always ready to help others.

In addition to his spouse Irving, Bruce is survived by his three sisters, Donna Thompson, Melvena Thompson, and Melissa Harris; his nephew, Jayvon; along with extended family and many dear friends who will cherish his memory.

Services will be held as follows:

Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at 31 Bowker Street, Boston, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for support during this difficult time. Contributions in Bruce’s memory may be made through the family’s GoFundMe at: https://gofund.me/6c3aba60.
