Bruce Tibbetts entered into rest on Sunday, October 6th, 2024. Mr. Bruce Alan Tibbetts, born September 6th, 1958 in Weymouth, MA, was the loving husband of Dorothy (Waff) Tibbetts. Other family members include his late father, Walter I. Tibbetts Jr. (deceased 10/6/2011) and survived by his mother Joanne (Smith) Tibbetts of Scituate, MA, his sister, Gail (Tibbetts) Varrasso, her partner David Horton of Scituate, MA, his sister Suzanne J. Torres of Quincy, MA, his niece Valerie Varrasso of Scituate, MA, and a nephew Michael G. Torres of MA. His daughters include Gabrielle M. Tibbetts and Kimberly N. Tibbetts of Evans, GA, Kaitlin G. (Tibbetts) Camadeco of MA and Samantha A. Tibbetts of NJ, along with two granddaughters.
Bruce was born in Weymouth, MA at South Shore Hospital and raised in Braintree, MA. He graduated from Braintree High School in 1976 and he later attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in architectural engineering in 1993. He later moved to Holbrook, MA, Richland, WA, and Evans, GA. His current job was at Fluor Federal Services at the Savannah River Site. Bruce's job history includes working for Bechtel National for over 20 years on various sites. Projects included construction of the Plant Vogtle Nuclear Power Plant in Waynesboro, GA, the Chemical Destruction Pilot Plant in Richmond, KY, the Waste Treatment Project in Hanford, WA, and construction of the Central Artery Tunnel Project, also known as “The Big Dig”, in Boston, MA.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM for visitation on Saturday, October 19th, 2024 in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors located at 214 Davis Road, Augusta, GA 30907. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM following the visitation.
