Bruno DiVito, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at home on February 2, 2025, at the age of 64. Born in Fondi, Italy, Bruno immigrated to the United States at a young age and made Medford his home for many years. He was the youngest son of the late Ettore and Elsa DiVito. Bruno leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Vidalia (Reis) DiVito, and his devoted children: Gina DiVito Moran and her husband, John, of North Reading; Samantha DiVito and her husband, Sunghil Kwon, of South Korea; and Susan DiVito of New York City. Bruno was the proud "Nonno" of Henry, Noah, and Charlie Moran, and of Hana Kwon, and his love for his grandchildren was apparent to all and the center of his world.
Bruno was the dear brother of Stefano DiVito and his wife, Raffy; Ralph DiVito and his wife, Patricia; Mirella Sicari and her husband, Gaetano; Egeo DiVito and his wife, Karen; and Cynthia McIrney and her husband, Walter. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as a wide circle of friends who cherished time with him.
Bruno was a self-taught, bold, and charismatic man with a unique sense of humor and a strong work ethic. He had a passion for good food, good music, history, travel, and classic films. Bruno could talk to anyone and he could dance to anything. His curiosity for life and knowledge was matched only by his love for his family, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was also the co-owner of DiVito Brothers Pizzeria, a local institution in Billerica, alongside his brother.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Bruno's family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday, February 6th from 5 to 8 PM. A service in celebration of Bruno's life will be held on Friday, February 7th at 10 AM at Dello Russo, followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a small gift made in Bruno's name to the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, Inc., 1661 Worcester Rd Suite 205B, Framingham, MA 01701.
Bruno's legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in his grandchildren and in the hearts of all who knew him.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Bruno. I went into DiVitos tonight for take-out and Jay mentioned to me. My wife and I moved to Billerica from NJ in 1992 and when we found DiVito Brothers, there was no other pizza to be had. I quickly established friendships with Bruno, Jay and Mike over the many years visiting their pizzeria. Bruno was an easy guy to speak with. He always had a quick witt and he had to be quick because he was always busy working hard. He would always greet me with a smile and ask about family etc. I know he was a family man also and deeply devoted at that. He will be very missed. Praying that God will fill the void left by his passing. May he rest in peace.

To Bruno's family and loved ones:

My deepest sympathies on this profound loss. My heart breaks over the news of his passing. This obituary, a great tribute, says it well: DiVito Brothers is indeed an institution. Growing up in Billerica, I can't recall a major family milestone that Bruno wasn't somehow a part of. Every birthday, graduation party, you name it, they all were catered by DiVito Brothers.

Being a small business owner is not for the faint of heart; and, it was something Bruno did with gusto. Though I no longer live in Billerica, no hometown visit is complete without a stop at DiVitos; and, Bruno's vision of excellent, quality food at attainable prices remains. His chicken cutlets are the gold standard to which I measure any other one I have either tried or attempted to make myself!

Bruno was a force. He had a dynamic sense of humor and was able to simultaneously make his patrons laugh and feel seen. Sit in DiVitos long enough; and, you'll see he knew many people by name.

DiVitos is a testament to him, his work ethic, but also the community he created as a result of it. My heart goes out to his wife, children, and all his loved ones. And, I hope that some solace can be found in the sharing of great memories.
