Bryan L. Atwater

Bryan L. Atwater, 58, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, at his home. He was born March 16, 1967, in Toledo, Ohio, to Terry and Genevieve (Newton) Atwater.
A 1985 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and Penta Vocational School, Bryan was a skilled millwright by trade. He most recently worked in maintenance for Lafarge Quarry in lakeside, Ohio, and he enjoyed running his business, All Season Insulation, for many years.
Bryan was confirmed at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Oak Harbor. He loved being outdoorsboating, cars, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishingand delighted in participating in local pool leagues, coaching football, and sharing his humor and willingness to help others. He had that look of thought as he contemplated what he would say or joke about next, and sometimes, perhaps, a little too much charm. He was the kind of person who showed up loudly and left friends with stories to retell.
Survivors include his daughters: Kayla (Spencer Skinner) Goetz of Oak Harbor and Brynna (Ethan) Hetrick-Atwater of Fremont; his parents, Terry and Genevieve Atwater of Oak Harbor; grandchildren Archer Hetrick and Shaylee Skinner; his brother, Rick (Kris) Atwater of Oak Harbor; nieces Courtney Andryc and Corrine Davies; and his canine companion Natalie. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jaycob Atwater, and his beloved dog Nelly.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o Brynna Hetrick-Atwater to help with funeral expenses.
