Bryan Jeffrey Blackburn, 51, of Merritt Island, FL, suddenly passed away on July 13, 2024. Friends and family also knew Bryan as " GB", " Big Son", "Big Sexy", "Big B" and "Baby Boy".
Bryan was born on October 7, 1972, to Gary and Patricia Blackburn in Melbourne, FL. After Bryan graduated from Eau Gallie High School in 1990, he served as a medic in the Army from 1992 to 1996. He then went to Northwest Iowa Community College where he obtained his Journeyman ticket. He worked for numerous contractors until he was hired by Florida Power & Light in 2007. Bryan worked in both Distribution and Transmission as a lineman for FPL and held the title of Cocoa Transmission Operations Lead when he passed.
Bryan is survived by both parents, his wife Eileen (Kahle) Blackburn, and children Brady Blackburn, Kyler Brake, Madison Brake, Briana Brake, and Kailee (Jacob) Palmer. Three granddaughters Rhylee, Ella, and Ivey Palmer. His sisters aka "The Golden Girls" are Jessica (Sam) Martinez and Julie (Mike) Koons. Nieces, Emma (Tim) Flay and Adyson Martinez, and two nephews, Jake Koons and Bronson Martinez.
Bryan had a passion for fishing and boating. He loved his job as a lineman and that is all he truly wanted to do. He always said, "I just want to build power lines". He had a smile that would light up any room and a huge heart that had touched many. He was a true family man and always put his family first and was so proud of them all.

I knew Bryan back in High School. He was always happy, friendly and a guy you could count on. We had some really good times back then. Very sorry to his family and close friends for such a big loss of a really great guy.
