Bryan Anthony Carls, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at the age of 47, in Warren, Michigan. Born on October 12, 1978, in
Royal Oak, Michigan, Bryan was the cherished child of Gail and Dennis Carls. He grew up alongside his brothers, Andrew and Daniel (Lindsay) Carls, and was a doting uncle to his nephews, Henry and Lennon. His faithful dog, Flashy, was a constant companion and source of joy throughout his life.
Bryan was a graduate of Oakland Community College and Western Michigan University, where he cultivated his passion for aviation. His education was further enhanced by avionics training, which paved the way for his successful career. For the last 15 years, Bryan served as a dedicated pilot for I.F.L. Aviation in Oakland County, Michigan, where he was respected by his colleagues for his professionalism and camaraderie.
Those who knew Bryan were touched by his generous spirit, thoughtful nature, and infectious sense of humor. He had a unique ability to light up a room and make people feel at ease with just a smile or a witty remark. Bryan's interests were as expansive as the skies he navigated. He was an avid gardener, finding solace and joy in the beauty of nature. His culinary skills were unparalleled, and he often delighted family and friends with his delicious home-cooked meals.
Bryan's love for the outdoors extended to camping and hiking, activities that allowed him to explore and appreciate the natural world. He was a seasoned traveler, with many cherished visits to national parks across the country. These excursions not only satisfied his adventurous spirit but also provided a backdrop for the beautiful memories that his loved ones will hold dear. Despite his love for travel, his heart was based at home with his family and friends. He cherished time with them, whether it be hanging out for a movie night at home or doing something fun, like visiting a museum or zoo. He had a passion for sports, following the Detroit Teams and U of M.
Bryan's life was a testament to the power of kindness, the importance of family, and the joy of pursuing one's passions. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to resonate with all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. His memory will be treasured by his parents, Gail and Dennis; his brothers, Andrew and Daniel (Lindsay); his nephews, Henry and Lennon; his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins; his loyal dog, Flashy; and friends.
As we bid farewell to Bryan Anthony Carls, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion. His journey may have ended, but the stories of his generosity, thoughtfulness, and humor will be shared for generations to come. Bryan's spirit will forever soar high, much like the planes he expertly piloted, leaving behind a trail of beauty and inspiration. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
