Bryan Henderson Jr., 63, of Maysville, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 19, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.
Born on January 12, 1962, in Gastonia, NC, Bryan was the beloved son of Claude Bryan Henderson Sr., who preceded him in death, and Carolyn "Casey" Henderson.
Bryan is survived by his mother, Casey Henderson and sister, Myra Mash (Don) of NC; wife, Winnifred Harris Henderson; daughter, Kaela Williams; sons, Tyler Henderson, and Nick Zickefoose; grandchildren, Nora, Nash, Nile, Jude, Berkley, and Nicolas, all of OH. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and loyal friend Tad Plant of NC.
In 1963, Claude and Casey moved the family to OH, where Bryan spent most of his youth. At an early age, he became a Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of Westerville, OH. He continued his adolescence playing sports including baseball, basketball and football throughout his elementary and high school years. A graduate of Westerville South Highschool, Westerville, OH, Bryan furthered his education at Columbus Paraprofessional Institute where he pursued information technology. He leveraged that knowledge, working as an IT administrator and other technology related positions at Vertiv (formerly Emerson/Liebert Corporation) providing for his family for over 20 years where he formed lasting friendships. As a father, he coached his children in various sports. He was an avid OSU fan and enjoyed NASCAR. In 2013 Bryan moved back to NC, closer to family. For those who knew Bryan, he had a sense of humor almost unable to tell whether he was joking or sincere. A trait of his that will be missed by many.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Greenleaf Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel, New Bern, NC, with Rev. Woody Whitt and Rev. Steve Evans officiating.
The family will be receiving friends from 11 am – 7 pm on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the home of Casey Henderson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Bryan's memory to the Memorial Baptist Church Family Life Center, PO Box 219, Maysville, NC 28555.
