Bryan Laural Sukut, age 45, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 17th, 2023 from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. Their loss was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.
Bryan was born on March 21, 1978 to Mary (Holmstrom) Sukut and Delwen Sukut in Lisbon, ND and grew up in
Gwinner, ND. When Bryan was four years old, they welcomed his baby sister Monica into the family. He took the job of "big brother" very seriously and they continued to have a close relationship with one another for the rest of his life. After graduating from North Sargent High School in 1996, Bryan attended basic training for the North Dakota National Guard in
Columbia, South Carolina. Upon returning from basic training, Bryan was employed at Harley-Davidson in Wahpeton where he enjoyed learning about the manufacturing process of motorcycles and lived with high school friends in Fargo, ND. When he moved to
St. Joseph, Missouri with his ex-wife, he attended the St. Joseph Electronics Institute where he graduated with honors in telecommunications engineering. He worked as an install technician at St. Jo Frontier and Ameristar Casinos. For two years, Bryan fulfilled one of his dreams by owning and operating "Axel Bar" in downtown St. Joseph. In addition to managing, bartending, and organizing events, he showcased his talents for art and design throughout the bar. Following his divorce in 2016, Bryan moved to Fargo, ND to be close to his family. He worked at Fargo Powdercoat where he learned yet another set of skills while powder coating industrial equipment. When the company closed, Bryan was able to dedicate all his time to his newly developing business "Only Mostly Broken," which was an online platform for hiring a plumber, contractor, electrician, handy man, or landscaper. He took on his business partner in 2022 and together they continued to run Only Mostly Broken to the present time. Last year, Bryan began working with his friend Ross Smith, who owns Earthworm Excavating, where Bryan was able to fulfill another dream, where in his own words, he "got to play in the dirt all day with giant tractors and Tonka trucks."
In November of 2021, Bryan and his friend Jennifer began their relationship and they wed in June of 2023 in
Lumberton, Texas.
Bryan was predeceased by his father, Delwen Sukut, his uncle James Holmstrom, grandparents Bud and Eunice Holmstrom, grandparents Albert and Edna Sukut, and daughters Robin and Raven Sukut.
Bryan is survived by his mother Mary Sukut (Chad Crandall) of Fargo, ND, his wife Jennifer Ann Carmean of Fargo, ND, his sister Monica (Brian) Salberg of West Fargo, ND, his niece Hailey Salberg and his nephew Gracin Salberg both of West Fargo, ND, his uncle Delmer (Fern) Sukut of
