Luella “Lu” Sukut, 90, of Fargo, ND, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, in Bethany on University, Fargo.
Luella Sukut was born June 28, 1933, the daughter of Adolph and Amelia Haas, in Zeeland, ND. She spent her formative years in Hazelton, ND, and completed her education at Hazelton High School. Following her graduation, Lu moved to Bismarck, ND, where she worked as an operator for AT &T.
On October 7, 1955, Lu entered into marriage to Harvey Sukut in Bismarck. Together they lived in various places before settling in Fargo. As a devoted homemaker, Luella found immense fulfillment in raising her children, nurturing, and caring for her family. Harvey passed away on December 17, 2013, and Lu continued to reside in Fargo.
She was a member of Calvary Church in Moorhead.
Lu was known for her unwavering faith, dedication to prayer, and profound love for Jesus Christ. Guided by her faith, she placed significant emphasis on instilling spiritual values in her children and aiding them in fostering a personal relationship with Jesus. Luella also enjoyed pursuits such as cooking, sewing, and reading.
Lu will be dearly missed by her children, Dennis (DeeDee) Sukut, Wylie, TX, Rick (Lisa) Sukut, Worden, MT, Debbie (Tim) Dockter, Scott (Brenda) Sukut and Melissa (Chris) Nielsen, all of Fargo; grandchildren, Travis (Shannon) Sukut, Brandie (Justin) Logan, Justin Sukut, Noah Sukut, Maya (Jaarel) Hansen, Emily Dockter, Joshua Dockter, Katie Nielsen and Hannah Nielsen; great-grandchildren, Kitana (Marshall Kuhn) Sukut, Tristan (Jessie) Sukut, Kiara and Keelee Logan, and Jaylou Hansen; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; granddaughter, Angela Sukut; brothers, Alfred, Eddie, and Herman; and sisters, Janet and Irene.
In remembrance of Lu’s life and legacy a Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, March 26, 2024, followed by her Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead, MN.
The burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
