Bryan Paul Witte left the world much quieter than he entered it. He passed away surrounded by family at McKay-Dee Hospital on July 12, 2022, following a heart attack three days prior. He was born on May 22, 1985, in Layton, Utah, and promptly made his presence known by letting loose his bladder all over the doctor's face. He lived his life with the same energy and disregard for how things were supposed to be done. Always the daredevil, he accrued concussions as a child as quickly as he lost his baby teeth, sometimes at the same time.
He carried that verve with him as he joined the Utah National Guard and served in the 19th Special Forces Group as an air condition technician. He trained as an Airborne soldier until he was severely injured during his first jump. He spent ten months on tour in Iraq, sacrificing his health in service for his country and carrying those injuries with him for the rest of his life. He loved the Army and always planned to return to the service as an officer, but his injuries prevented his return. He was a true patriot in his beliefs and actions.
All who knew Bryan were won over by his infectious humor and mischievous grin. If you spoke with him for more than five minutes, he would have already pulled out his latest rock find, undoubtedly with gold in it, even if only small specks. Although he never received formal education and was completely self-taught, his knowledge of geology and goldsmithing could have surpassed that of some experts. As he once said, all he wanted to be was a gold-mining soldier. He also loved video gaming and his family, and his favorite time of day was 4:20 p.m.
Bryan worked as a quality control technician for several electronics manufacturing companies. The past few years he worked in the plumbing trade for Black Star Plumbing as an apprentice plumber.

Bryan lived his life in the moment, not planning too far into the future, and so in lieu of flowers, the family has set up a GoFundMe account to help defray funerary and other expenses: www.gofundme.com/f/bryan-witte.
