Bryon C. Klaser, 65, of Lake Cormorant, Mississippi, formerly of Mt. Vernon, Indiana passed away peacefully after a long illness on June 8, 2025 at Shepherd Hospice in Southaven, Mississippi.
He was born on August 26, 1959 in Evansville, Indiana to Charles and Joyce Klaser Jr., attended Culver Elementary School and graduated from Bosse High School in 1977 where he played in the marching band and jazz band. Bryon joined the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department as a civilian jailer and retired as a Lieutenant. He was an avid Notre Dame fan, the life of the party always finding humor in every situation, and a friend to everyone he met. Everyone who knew him not only has a Bryon story, but they have a friend for life who would give you the shirt off his back or his last dollar. He was a very honorable man and his motto is “ always do the right thing”.
He loved his dog, Ethel Rae, loved to people watch from the car with her while Cheryl went inside to shop, loved being outside, bush hogging on his tractor, music, playing his banjo, and cooking.
Bryon leaves behind his wife, Cheryl McGowen-Klaser and his loving fur baby, Ethel Rae, and the following family members: sisters, Sarah Klaser of Hustonville, Kentucky and Ruth Ann Morrison of Evansville, Indiana, nieces Anna Pearce & husband John, Michelle Klaser, & nephews Gary Morrison, Jason Collins & wife Rachael, Kyle Collins & wife Riley, Great-niece Allison Koch, & great-nephews Chad Koch, wife Brooke, & Mikey Koch.
His stepsons: Billy Jack McGowen Jr. and his wife, Crystal of Walls, Mississippi and Robert Wayne McGowen and his wife, Deana of Hernando, Mississippi, his stepdaughter, Morgan Louise Lander and her husband, Koby of Hernando, Mississippi, his grandchildren, Austin, Elijah, Hayden, Graysen, Derek, Maverick, Kash and Krew, and a very special friends Bob Bernat & DeAnna Klaser who were with him until the very end.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Joyce (Adcox) Klaser Jr. and his brother, Gene Michael Klaser.
Visitation for Bryon C. Klaser will be on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 11 am until the 1:00 pm funeral hour at Beshear Funeral Home - 205 Main St. - Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Burial will follow at Ilsley Christian Cemetery in Hopkins County.
