Buddie Boyce Murray

Buddie Boyce Murray, age 92, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away on July 3, 2025. Born on June 26. 1933 in Heber Springs, Arkansas, he was the son of the late R. Elvin and Lorene Chandler Murray.
Buddie was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was born and raised in Heber Springs, and spent all his life in Cleburne County, except for the last few years of his life when he lived In Rose Bud (White County). He married Marketa Francis Fisher on June 27, 1956 and they had celebrated many wonderful years together until her death on May 22, 2023. In the 1950's and 1960's he was the owner and operator of two different service stations In Heber Springs. In the 1970's – 1990's he owned and operated several dump trucks and worked all over the state of Arkansas. He loved to trade cars and trucks or anything of value that he could fix up to make a dollar. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and camping on the banks of the Spring River. In his later years he and his wife enjoyed traveling in their motor home to Blue Grass and Gospel singings. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved playing dominoes at Carroll's Grocery in Rose Bud. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Mount Devonshire Community Church where he served as song leader until his health failed. He was a big talker and never met a stranger. He always had a handshake or a hug for anyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 66 years Marketa Murray, and an infant sister Betty Jane Murray.
He is survived by his children Gail Evans, and Dennis Murray, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to thank Southridge Nursing & Rehab, Arkansas Hospice, and Olmstead Funeral Home for their caring and kindness in the last few months.

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm – 3:00pm on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Olmstead Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 3:00pm with Pastor John Cates officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Martin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charlie Cockrum, Derek Murray, Braden Cockrum, Joseph Evans, Kevin Mathys, and Evan Mathys. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cayden Evans, Hayden Evans, Oliver Evans, and Dalton Murray.
