Bobby Ray Murray
April 25, 1937 – August 27, 2025
CARY – Bobby Ray Murray, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, leaving sadness in the hearts of many. He was born in Nash County, North Carolina, to the late Duvern Alfins and Belma Parker Murray. After retiring from his career as vice-president of a Raleigh medical supply sales company, Bobby spent his days enjoying life to the fullest, dedicating his life to his family and loving them unconditionally. Bobby will be missed, and the love he showed will never be forgotten.
Bobby is survived by his wonderful bride and love of his life of 64 years, Alicia Richards Murray; his children, Debbie Murray Johnson (Andy) and Rich Murray (Mark Rifkin); 2 grandchildren, Drew Johnson (Elizabeth) and Steven Johnson (Erica); 4 great-grandchildren, Hannah Johnson, Kaleigh Johnson, Della Johnson, and Warren Johnson; and his siblings, Michele Fowler and David Murray (Janette). He was predeceased by his brothers, Steve and Michael Murray. The family is open to visitors at the home of Debbie and Andy on Saturday afternoon.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in the Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel located at 211 W. Third Street in Wendell, NC. The family will speak with friends at the conclusion of the service.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Transitions LifeCare of Raleigh, NC https://www.transitionslifecare.org/donate/ or to your charity of choice.
