Burnel Domine

Burnel Domine, 68, of Verona, ND passed away May 10, 2023 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Burnel Chris, son of Henry and Clara (Hubred) Domine was born December 21, 1954 at Oakes, ND. He grew up in the Verona area graduating from Verona High School. Burnel married Susan Bruns July 24, 1976 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Stirum, ND. They were blessed with a son, Matthew and daughter, Kristen. Burnel and Sue lived on the family farm near Verona, where they farmed and raised their family. Burnel was a lifelong farmer and rancher and took great pride in what he did. He enjoyed his rural community and spent years serving the Verona school board, Ovid township board, and Verona St. John's Lutheran church. Burnel enjoyed music and watching and playing sports. He could also be found grilling anything and welding in the shop, tinkering with and fabricating a number of cookers and other things.
He will be missed by his children, Matthew (Nancy) Domine of Oakes and Kristen (Kelly) Nash who live on the family farm; grandchildren, Brooks and Mallory Domine and Landon and Liam Nash; his siblings, Ginger (Hank) Bretz, Celia (Jerry) Dockter, Melvin (Jackie) Domine, Wesley (Karen) Domine and Lisa Domine; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Burnel was preceded in death by his wife Sue, his parents, a nephew Henry Domine and niece Jackie Dockter.
A prayer service will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Oakes. His memorial service will be Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Verona. A private family burial will be held at a later date at the Glover Cemetery.
