Burton C. Huddle

July 20, 1939-September 4, 2025

Burton C. Huddle, 86, passed away on September 4, 2025. He was born on July 20, 1939, south of Mullen, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton (Bus) Huddle and Ruth (Johnson) Huddle, and his brother, Marvin Huddle. Burton is survived by his daughters, Jamie (Neiman) McCreary and Stephanie Huddle, his son-in-law, Mike McCreary, and his grandson, Jack McCreary.

Burton grew up in Mullen, where he graduated from high school and later joined the United States Marine Corps. For many years, Burton worked in construction before he became self-employed as a carpenter. Not one to take to retirement, for many years, he worked at the Nebraska National Forest in Halsey, Nebraska. Burton enjoyed cheering on the Mullen Broncos and could be seen at many high school sporting events. He loved the company of animals and remained active for much of his life, often taking several daily walks around town. He will be remembered for his love for his family, friendliness, and ability to carry on a conversation with almost anyone.

Donations may be made to the Nebraska Humane Society or Arbor Day Foundation instead of flowers.

A memorial service will be held at the Seneca Auditorium on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. CST. Friends are invited to join the family for lunch after the burial service at the Seneca Cemetery. Online words of remembrance or condolences may be left at www.govierbrothers.com
