Burton met his beloved wife of 66 years, Glenna Lampley at the First Baptist Church of Carmi. After marriage, they moved to Indiana, Michigan, Washington State and later made home in Pensacola, FL where he had the opportunity to work with the Blue Angels. He retired from the military and began working as a furniture salesman for 20 more years.
Burton was active at his church home, Myrtle Grove Baptist and was a proud member of the choir and quartet.
Burton was preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenna Havens Lampley.
He is survived by his adoring children, Patty Lutrick and David Lampley; his four beloved grandchildren and their spouses, Ashley Lutrick, Kari Lampley-Duncan (Pamela Duncan), Hunter Lampley, and Heather Gurley (Caleb Gurley); and his sister, Linda Boren.
