Byron "Keith" Gott age 63 passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord, Tuesday July 9th, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Keith was born on August 18, 1960 in Harrisburg, IL to Catherine "Minsy" Gott (Chrisman) and Thomas L. Gott.
To know Keith was to love him. He was deeply involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren and his family meant everything to him.
He was a sports enthusiast, especially of his hometown teams and known by many as a local basketball referee and a part of the "chain-gang" for the Harrisburg Bulldogs Football team, his alma mater. Additionally, he was an avid fisherman and had a passion for deer hunting.
Keith loved his job and was employed by the U.S. Forest Service and bonded with many of his coworkers. They are included in the special thanks that goes out to all who supported him during his time of illness.
Keith was married to the love of his life, Bonnie Gott (Leinenbach) and they were together for 44 years.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie, daughter Melissa and sons Jerod(Julie Johnson) and Eric(Megan Feazel), grandchildren Tisha, Ashley, Jonathan, Jonson, Jorjia, Johvii and Covington, brothers Nik and Tommy Lee, many cousins, nieces and nephews, close friends, as well as his special dog and best friend Gunner. He preceded in death by his Mother and Father.

Very sad to hear of Byron's passing. I seen many basketball games where he refereed, he was one of the honest and fair refs around here. My thoughts and prayers go out the family.
