Byron Ray McCormack

Byron Ray McCormack, aged 71, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Albuquerque, NM. Born on February 15, 1954, Byron dedicated much of his life to his work in the oilfield and as a truck driver for Consolidated Constructors. He was a graduate of Aztec High School and was well-known for his love of sports. Throughout his life, Byron was actively involved in coaching and supporting various sports teams in San Juan County, particularly baseball, basketball, and football.

Byron was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, cherished by many for his supportive and enthusiastic nature. He is survived by his daughters, Samantha Campbell and husband Kevin, Rachel Martin and husband Nathan, Michelle McCormack and son Collin; sisters Sandra Brown and husband Terry, Mary (Becky) Stevens-McCormack; brother Harlan (Butch) McCormack and wife Debbie; and his grandchildren Keira Moore, Chasen Gray, Layla Gray, Jackson Campbell, and Evie Martin. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends, including Mike Padilla and Les Mobley, as well as his fellow classmates from the class of '73.

Byron was preceded in death by his parents, Jeann and Harlan McCormack, and his brothers, Sid Hartsell, Harvey McCormack, and Jeff McCormack.
