C. A. McPherson (Arnold or Mac) age 97, Jackson, Ohio, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Holzer Emergency Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born August 11, 1928, to the late Clifton Charles McPherson Sr. and Murrell Olive McPherson
He is survived by his two loving sons, Michael (Gloria) McPherson, of Jackson and David (Becki) McPherson, of New Marshfield, Ohio; granddaughters, Linda McPherson, Kelly (Jeff) McCall, Beth Jaimeson and Cassidy (Nathan) Johnson; great granddaughters, Hannah Walker, Lauren McCall, Ava McCall, Lizzie Bell Jones and Isabella Jaimeson and great grandson, Jacob Jaimeson. Also surviving is his brother Lowell (Carol) McPherson and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye (Osborne) McPherson; his daughter, Vicki McPherson; sisters, Juanita Juba and Opal King; and brothers, James McPherson, C.C. McPherson and Darrel McPherson.
He moved his family from Princeton, WV to Jackson, OH after being hired at the Goodyear Atomic Plant and worked there until his retirement.
He loved traveling with his wife. They traveled all over the U.S. and even drove their motor home to Alaska. A favorite destination was Big Bend in Texas. He was an avid bowhunter. He was also a scout leader when his sons were involved with Boy Scouts.
He was loved by everyone that had the privilege of knowing him and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 11-2 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 with Dave Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
