Joyce worked at Foster-Forbes then she and Jim went on to own Jim's Bar in Jonesboro, Sports Bar and 31 Club in Marion. When she wasn't working, she was always busy with something she loved like crocheting, sewing, or quilting. She was also an avid Euchre player through the club in which she was a member. She had a green thumb and could coax just about anything to grow in her garden. Joyce loved a good card game and never passed up a trip to the casino. She had a real sense of adventure and enjoyed traveling the country.
She left a beautiful legacy of five generations to cherish her memory. Joyce's life was shared with her daughter, Sandra K. (the late, Butch) Magers; sons, Bart Clevenger, the late, Kerry (Wanda) Clevenger; grandchildren, Shellie Magers, Deb (Grant) Randall, Kellie (Tim) Street, Kasey (Kellee) Clevenger, Wesley Clevenger, Zack Clevenger, April Jordan, and Nikkole Wright; 8 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; brother, Charles Bradford; sisters, Barbara Atkins, Nancy Shockey and Lois Lamb.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Berniece Bradford; husband, James Clevenger; and sisters, Patty Ratcliff and Joann Abernathy.
At Joyce's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
The family will host a Celebration of Life service on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the American Legion Post 10 1700 S. Pennsylvania St., Marion, IN.
The family would like to express their thanks for the care she received from the staff of Wesleyan Health Care.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Association 50 E. 91st St., Ste. 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
