Caleb Scott Smith, 18, of Alexander, Arkansas was born to Coby Scott Smith and Stacey Lynn (Bores) Murray, on Friday, December 2nd, 2005, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He left this world far too soon on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, surrounded by love. To know Caleb, was to immediately love Caleb. Caleb was a recent graduate of Bryant High School's Class of 2024. Caleb's constant companions were his beloved labrador, Huckleberry, and his cat of 16 years, Kitty Boo. Kitty Boo was by his side as he died. Caleb enjoyed fishing, but above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His favorite things to do as a child included going to the movies with his Poppy and going to the airport to watch the airplanes take off and land. As Caleb got older, our weekends were spent going on adventures to Hot Springs and Heber Springs with his mama and his mimi. We loved to go eat Mexican food and shop. Caleb loved to spend time with his dad and his step siblings fishing on the dock at the river. Caleb loved music above all else. He spent the first several years of his life as a bad drummer. Over the years, we bought him dozens of pairs of earbuds, so he could listen to music everywhere he went. Music gave him peace. Caleb loved his youth group at New Life Church and found refuge in the love he was shown by that group.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Smith.
Left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy are his loving parents, Coby Smith and his wife, Ashley, his mother, Stacey Lynn Murray and her husband, Chris; his big sister, Caitlyn (Cayden) Borgerding; five step siblings, Kiersten, Treyton, Layne, and Ayden Tallent, and Riley Murray; grandparents, Carl and Carolyn Bores, and Bobbie Smith; his uncle, Mike Bores (Sherri); his "Ain't," Summer Gatica; along with numerous aunts, uncles, other family, and friends who love him and cannot fathom life without him.
Caleb's celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 6th, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. at New Life Church in Bryant and his visitation will be the evening prior from 6:00-8:00 P.M. next door at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home.
Following his service on Thursday, he will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saline County Animal Shelter in memory of Caleb.
