Calla Clemons

Calla Clemons, formerly of Knox, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, October 31, 2025, following an illness. She was born on September 9, 1940, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, to the late Pearl and Cassie (Manns) Napier and was 85 years old at the time of her passing.
On January 12, 1956, in Jackson, Kentucky, Calla married the love of her life, Fanuel Clemons, and together they built a home grounded in love, faith, and family. A proud homemaker, Calla found joy in life's simple treasures-her faith, her family, and the comfort of home. She was a devoted member of the South Central United Baptist Church and was known by many as the very definition of a "church mom." Her unwavering faith and kind spirit touched countless hearts throughout her life.
Calla dearly cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness. She was especially excited to welcome her newest great-granddaughter soon to arrive. Known for her generous heart and love of cooking, Calla found great joy in feeding and caring for those she loved-no one ever left her home hungry.
She is survived by her daughter Wilma Clemons; two daughters-in-law Mary Clemons and Jane Clemons; five grandchildren, Sarah (Ben) Sheets, Roger Kyle (Lisa) Clemons, Jacob (Katie) Clemons, Timothy Bower, and Kaitlin Archie; five great-grandchildren, Shayna, Braelyn, Ethan, Christian, and Avery, with one baby girl still to be named on the way; three brothers, Junior Napier, Paul Napier, and Bill Napier; and two sisters, Ruby Neace and Geraldine Rotering.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fanuel Clemons; one daughter, Brenda Bower; and two sons, Douglas Clemons and Roger Clemons.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. CST on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Funeral services will be at Noon CST, with additional visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox.
Calla will be remembered for her gentle soul, her steadfast faith, and the love she poured into her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith and devotion will continue to live on in all who loved her.
