Logan M. Cooke

Logan Cooke, age 18, of Koontz Lake, Indiana, passed away tragically on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on October 4, 2007, in Michigan City to the late David Cooke Jr. and Ashley (Garrett) Cooke.
A senior at Oregon-Davis High School, Logan's mark on this world cannot be measured by his age alone. He was kind, polite, and known for a smile that could light up any room. With a quick wit and a laugh that was absolutely contagious, Logan had a special way of making everyone around him feel seen and appreciated. His sense of humor and caring heart made him a true friend to all.
From a young age, Logan was incredibly hardworking and determined. At just 15 years old, he started his own lawncare business-proof of his drive, independence, and commitment to doing things the right way. He had a natural gift for working with his hands and loved anything with a motor and wheels. Logan especially loved Chevys and could often be found fixing, tinkering, or rebuilding something he had "accidentally" broken-just so he could make it better.
Logan is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Ashley Cooke and Don VanBlaricom; five siblings, Kerstyn (Anthony) Brantley, Kaden VanBlaricom, Nathan Cooke, Isabella Cooke, and Waylon VanBlaricom; grandparents Robin (Richard Benwell) Husmann, Rollie (Kathy) Bell, David and Janet Cooke Sr., April (Deno) Valone, and Art (Lori) Cooke; great-grandparents Robert Bell and Virginia Rushing; two nieces Brittany and Kenadee Brantley; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a wide circle of friends who will never forget his laugh, his loyalty, and his hardworking spirit.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Cooke Jr.
Visitation will be held from Noon to 4:00 PM CDT on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Oregon-Davis Jr./Sr. High School (5998 N. 750 East, Hamlet, IN 46532). Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM CDT on Monday, October 27, 2025, also at Oregon-Davis Jr./Sr. High School, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. PLEASE USE ETTRANCE 6 or the GYMNASIUM ENTRANCE. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM CDT at Wheatfield Cemetery in Wheatfield, Indiana.
Logan will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and his tireless work ethic-a young man whose heart and hands never stopped giving.
