Patti Jean Ren, 61, passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer for 11 years on April 19, 2025, in her home in Alamogordo, NM surrounded by her loving family. Patti was born on February 12, 1964, in Rutland, VT to Delos Oliver "Don" Niles Sr and her birth mother. She was lovingly raised by Mary (Carvey) Niles "Mom" as her own.
In October 1973, her family moved to Indiana where Patti graduated from Oregon Davis High School in 1982 and afterwards joined the United States Air Force. Patti met William Thomas Ren at Rhein Main Germany where they were married and had Khrystyn Nicole Ren (Hatfield). After moving to New Mexico, Patti earned her Associate's degree in business, a Bachelor's degree in human resources, graduating Cum Summa Laude with honors, and a Master's degree in business with a 4.0 GPA.
Patti was a member of Desert Basin Toastmasters and spent several years working with Relay for Life in Alamogordo, NM. She worked in the Civil Service for finance at the 49th Fighter Wing, the 49th Contracting Squadron, the 704th Test Group, and settled back in the 49th Contracting Squadron. She won many awards in her time and made it to the 12th Air Force awards ceremony.
Patti loved life, friends, and most of all, family
Patti is survived by her husband, William; Mother, Mary C (Carvey) Niles of Walkerton, IN; Daughter, Khrystyn N (Chris) Hatfield and grandson, Oliver Hatfield of Alamogordo, NM; sister, Theresa Allen of Rutland, VT; brothers, Delos "Skip" (Lori) Niles Jr of Lake City, FL; Shawn (Ashley) Niles Sr of Grovertown, IN; Michael Niles of Rochester, IN; Don (Lynnette) Niles Sr and Dwight (Chrissy) Niles of both of Walkerton, IN. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. Patti was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Raymond Niles.
There will be visitation time with the family from Noon to 1:00 CDT Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. A Memorial Service will occur at 1:00 CDT also on Saturday, June 28 at the funeral home.
