Michele DuCharme "Shelly" Ren

Michele "Shelly" DuCharme Ren, 65, of Charlotte Hall, MD, passed away on September 17, 2025 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, MD. Shelly was born on October 22, 1959 in Massachusetts to the late Virginia (Saint Peter) and Arthur DuCharme. Shelly was a nurse at Genesis Waldorf Center, formerly named Waldorf Health Care Center. She has been a resident in long term care since 2017, most recently residing at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. She enjoyed living at the Veterans Home where she was given the opportunity to be social and make many new friends. She took advantage of the many daily activities that were offered to the residence. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, coloring, and crafting. She was able to go on a cruise with her family and loved it. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Shelly will be remembered by her laugh that filled a room, bold personality that made her friends wherever she went, and festive attire that matched every season and holiday. Shelly is survived by her husband of 38 years, David Ren; son, Jamie Ren and his significant other Patricia "Trish" Hatcher; daughters; Kera Massey and her husband Christopher Massey, and Megan Ren and her wife Melissa Ren; grandchildren; Aldon, Noelle, Maya, and two more on the way; and brothers; Douglas DuCharme, and Greg DuCharme. A Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 4:00 PM until time of Service at 5:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, 4560 Padgett Road, White Plains, MD 20695. Interment will be private.
