Callie Benson Obituary
Callie Marie was born December 15th,1947 to the late Nathaniel and Mildred Asbury. She was a devout member of the Victory Christian Center for over 25 years where she volunteered on several committees. She worked with the women's shelter, the Salvation Army and the Wednesday night youth group called Wednesday Night Jubilee. Callie taught and ministered to hundreds of women and children each week though these ministries.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Donald Ray Benson, two sons, Donovan Benson (Colette), Andre Benson (Juliet), four grandchildren, Dasha Benson, Kayleigh Benson, Lyric Medley and Lamon Benson and one great grandchild Dekari Benson. She has four sisters, Phyllis Adams, Wilhermenia Edwards, Barbara Jones and Eleanor Stafford. Seven nieces and nephews and a plethora of extended family and friends, including one very special friend, Celina Wilson and a special cousin Debra Sturdivant.
Callie will be sorely missed by all who knew her, but we all know she is no longer in pain and in a much better place.
It's fitting that God received her on a beautiful Sunday morning as He knew that was her favorite day of the week.
