Callie Ann Coltrain Coward, 31, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 29, 2025 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 3 PM at Community Baptist Church in Ayden. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 3 PM at the church.
Callie grew up in the Ayden community, graduating from Ayden-Grifton High School. She went on to receive an Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology from Pitt Community College. Callie held a number of different jobs over the years but treasured her time spent at PetSmart. Most recently she had been employed with the Pitt County Tax Assessor Office, where she loved her coworkers. Callie enjoyed photography and travel and absolutely loved to shop. Living on her family's farm brought much joy to her life and she delighted in spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Cooper.
Callie was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Cannon Coltrain; grandparents, Don and Carol Cannon, and Cecil and Mary Ida Coltrain; uncle, Horace Coltrain; and cousin, Caroline Buck.
She is survived by her: father, Danny Ray Coltrain; sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Mikey Bland; aunts, Tracy Buck and husband, Gene, and Sabine Coltrain; cousins, Katelyn Buck, and Bret and Jennifer Coltrain; and special friends, Sarah Shackelford and Jozy Holland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church, P. O. Box 459, Ayden, NC 28513 or to the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina, 3520 Tupper Dr, Greenville, NC 27834.
