Calvin Dale Hillmann

 

Calvin Hillmann, 51, of East Bernard, Tx passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024. He was born on December 18, 1972, in Wharton, Texas to William “Bill” and Doris Zapalac Hillmann.

 

Calvin was raised in East Bernard and graduated with the Class of 1991. He later attended Texas State Technical College in Waco. Calvin worked from an early age, at Vincek’s Smokehouse, EB Milling and for the Department of Transportation in Wharton for many years. He married his high school sweetheart, Donna Kay Kopecky on September 12, 1998, in East Bernard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, riding his horse and roping cattle, and being with his friends and family. He was happiest when he was with Donna Kay, Cody and Chase, watching their games and activities. Calvin had a giving heart and was always first on the list to volunteer to help with benefits and fundraisers.

 

Calvin is survived by his wife, Donna Kay Hillmann, sons, Cody Dale Hillmann and Chase Dalton Hillmann, parents, Bill and Doris Hillmann, many cousins, friends and other relatives.

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, after 5 pm with rosary recited at 6:30 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in East Bernard. Serving as pallbearers are Wes Brandes, Neil Swoboda, Randall Huffman, Rusty Graves, Paul Swoboda, Jeff Popp, Rocky Brandes and Kyle Novicke and honorary pallbearers, Brian King, Robbie Melnar, Raymond Polak, Daniel Swoboda, James Swoboda, Matt Sbrusch, Mark Rivera, Benji Polak and Clay David.
