Mr. Calvin Kellum

Mr. Calvin Kellum, 70, formerly of Peoria, IL, passed away at 5:37 pm on Friday, February 16, 2024.
Calvin was born on July 24, 1953 in New Madrid, MO to Eugene and Alberta (George) Kellum. He married Alberta Kellum, she precedes him in death.
Calvin received his formal education from New Madrid High School. He had a career as a truck driver driving for various companies. He also loved to watch football games and old western cowboy movies on television and spending quality time with his family, his children and grandchildren.
He was well known for talking mess and making people laugh. He aways had a story to tell. Calvin was baptized and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very early age.
Calvin leaves to cherish his most precious memories three daughters, Shinta Walker Johnson and LaTonja Walker of Evansville, IN and DeAnna Forrest of Chicago, IL; five brothers, Nathaniel "Nate" Kellum and Tyrone Johnson both of Chicago, IL, James (Enarvel) Kellum of Matteson, IL, Henry (Dortha) Kellum of Hazel Crest, IL, Shelton (Toshycialyn) Kellum of Plainfield, IL; four sisters, Apostle Mary Nails of Dalton, IL, Cathey (Robert) Kellum of Chicago, IL, Peggy Jones of Rex, GA and Stephanie (Craig) Connor of Matteson, IL; five grandchildren and a host of greatgrandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, two brothers Sylvester and Luke; 3 Sisters Lee Flora, Bernice, Sharon Faye; four grandsons, Marquail Johnson, Ray Anderson, Jordan Walker and Maurice Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Sovereign Grace M.B. Church with a visitation beginning at 10 am. Rev. Dr. Patrick Pollard of New Bethel M.B. Church will officiate and Minister Morris Stokes will bring forth the eulogy.
